College and Career Prep is a 680-hour course that combines IEL/Civics education with course content that prepares highly-functional English Language Learners for success in a variety of high-demand fields aligned with either a degree or certificate program offered at HTC, including health care, manufacturing, technology, and hospitality/customer service. The course will introduce students to the world of work, provide career exploration and soft skills development opportunities, and build students’ skills in reading, math, and English to help them test out of expensive and time consuming developmental coursework when they enroll at HTC or another postsecondary institution. Students must have a score of at least 6.0 on the TABE assessment to enroll in CCP.
